1. What is the cost of registration?

The cost of registration is $110.00. Payable by visa, mastercard, debit card or check by mail.

2. What does the registration fee include?

Registration fee includes HYC practice t-shirt, practice shorts, instructional DVD for half time dance routine, Summer Cheer Clinic, End of Year Party, Trophy and operational cost.

3. What does the registration fee not include?

Items NOT included in registration are individual and team pictures, uniform, megaphone, pompoms, shoes & socks.

4. What is the cost of uniforms?

Approximate cost of a complete new uniform is $200.00

5. Can I purchase a previously worn uniform?

Consignment uniforms will be available on a first come first serve basis during Uniform Fitting.

6. What is the average cost of uniforms in consignment?

Consignment uniforms are approximately half priced compared to new uniforms.

8. When is registration?

Registration normally begins in mid April and continues until Uniform Fitting Day in mid May.

9. Do you accept late registration?

All registration forms and fees must be submitted by last day of registration. No Exceptions.

10. What are the requirements to participate in HYC?

Requirements to cheer:

• Must be entering grades 1-6 in the upcoming school year
• Must be a Homewood Resident/ Non-residents may cheer for an additional fee of $25.00

11. What is Summer Cheer Clinic?

Summer Cheer Clinic is a two day camp taught by Homewood High School Cheer Sponsors and Varsity Cheerleaders. Cheerleaders will learn cheers. Chants, jumps and a half time dance routine.

12. What do I need for Summer Cheer Clinic?

Cheerleaders will need to wear their practice t-shirt, shorts and tennis shoes. Water and snacks will be provided.

13. Where is Summer Cheer Clinic located?

Summer Cheer Clinic is located in the gym at Homewood High School

14. When is the Parent Demonstration?

The parent demonstration is generally presented on Sunday during the last hour of cheer clinic. The demonstration lasts about 30 minutes. You will want to bring your camera and video recorder!

15. When and where are practices?

Practice days, times and locations are scheduled by each squad individual coach. Cheerleaders practice at least 1 day per week until the season starts. You will receive a practice schedule from your coach/team parent at Summer Cheer Clinic.

16. When are games?

Games are usually scheduled on weeknights and last approximately 1 hour. The game schedule is provided by the Jefferson-Shelby Youth Football League. The schedule is typically available online at the end of August.

17. Where are games played?

Cheerleaders will cheer for a minimum of 8 games per season. 4 games will be held at our home field (Weygand Field on West Oxmoor Road). Away games are at any of the following fields: Pelham, Oak Mountain, Alabaster, Helena and Thompson.
